PET - Personal Electronic Transactor. A family of 6502-based machines from Commodore Business Machines characterized by 40x25 and 80x25 integrated monochrome text screens, 4K-32K of RAM (expandable up to 96K with rare boards), BASIC, proprietary ASCII (PETSCII), lo-res "character" graphics and an IEEE-488 bus for intelligent disks and printers. Popular from 1977 through the early 1980s. MSRP from $595 up to $1295. Very hackable. Thoroughly documented in recent years by enthusiastic hackers.
