At least in 0.6, if you run "startx" from the console, the colors are messed up. Run it from a serial console or run it on startup. To run from startup, I added this to /etc/inittab
but I had to change startx to make it stay in the foreground. I removed "matchbox &" and added "exec matchbox" to the end of the script.
Although xv works fine now, colors still get messed up in xawtv. Maybe it can't handle 8 bit color depth but instead of complaining it just puts up junk. :(
